To mark the premiere of CBS All Access/Amazon Prime's Star Trek: Picard, I decided to take a trip down memory lane to the fall of 1987 and the show where it all began. I was probably about 4 or 5 years old when I started watching this show. I think it's safe to say it may have left an impression. For this collection, I wanted to produce poster art depicting each of The Next Generation's seven seasons. I decided to build each composition around a uniform layout, set to the 'Starfleet Delta' that has long been the insignia for the franchise as a whole, with the 'Enterprise' centred and the characters of Capt. Picard (Patrick Stewart), Cmdr. Riker (Jonathan Frakes) and Lt. Cmdr. Data (Brent Spiner) featured prominently across the range. I also wanted each poster to represent two iconic episodes from their respective seasons, with one 'space' scene featured inside the Delta, and a memorable 'Picard' scene featured outside the Delta. I then decided to carry that composition over to the posters depicting the new Picard series. I also chose to make two variants, one depicting new characters introduced in the series and another depicting 'legacy' characters from prior entires in the franchise. This allowed me to carry the Picard/Riker/Data triumvirate that has featured throughout the rest of this collection without overlooking thew new arrivals.
And, finally, for the sake of rounding this collection off to an even number, I threw together a quick alternate poster depicting the episode 'The Big Goodbye' from the first season of The Next Generation. Star Trek: Picard is available to stream now on CBS All Access (US) and Amazon Prime (UK). Click or tap on any of the thumbnails below to see the full size image.
